At about midnight, my husband and I left for KKH Hospital as I was not sure whether I was going to give birth. We reached there at about 12.35a.m. One of the doctors confirmed that I was going to give birth. I was admitted to the delivery room. At about 9.15a.m. my gynae came. My baby, Lavinia no matter how hard I pushed, still did not want to come out!
Nancy, the midwife had gone home at about 7.30a.m. and another midwife took over. Finally, I had to go for a caesarean operation. Before that, the epidural had worn off so I was in great pain! A man had come in and asked me to sign some forms. I was in so much pain that I pulled his tie and shouted at him! Finally I was wheeled into the operating room after I managed to scribble some form of signature onto the forms he had.
Lavinia was delivered safely at 11.46a.m. I was brought to the ward after my delivery. My husband was very worried for me. His 1st words were, "How's my wife?" I felt so touched when I heard that. Later on, we saw Lavinia. She looked so cute and we love her instantly!
